An old joke suggests that artistic creation is 99 percent perspiration and one percent inspiration.

There is some truth to this statement: without hard work and a clear vision, artistic creation is bound to remain locked in the mind of the creator.

Motivation is just one element in a menu of attributes necessary for artistic success.

It is however, an absolutely vital aspect of creative endeavour.

It is in this spirit that I hope to offer practical, straight-forward advice on finding the proper motivation to write or engage in other forms of artistic expression.

I hope you enjoy taking this journey with me and look forward to your feedback.
